Summertime on Rock Springs Run

The water was crystal clear on Rock Springs Run this morning. Drifting downstream we were just inches above the white sandy bottom and could see fish darting under our kayaks. We saw the Turtles sunning on the logs and a few Gators were out too. The purple Pickerel Weed that lines the river’s edge is in full bloom now and we could see evidence of the Lubber Grasshoppers snacking on the Water Lilies. Shade is a wonderful thing and with this being one of our shadiest runs it was a good time hanging on the river.
