Paddling in the Florida Swamps June 22, 2013

There was a bit of coolness in the air this morning as we started out on the Wild and Scenic Wekiva River. The river is high and the opportunity to paddle it like this comes only once in a great while. It's nice to see the swamps filling up again and the wildlife is definitely taking advantage of it. There were Great Blue Herons, Little Blue Herons, Anhingas and that big Gator was sunning himself, a few Turtles here and there, the Sandhill Cranes were rooting around on the shoreline and Wilson's Landing was a great halfway point. We got out, stretched our legs, had a snack and off we went again. Karim had a hitch hiker with him which we gently placed back onshore and we even got to see a few Mullet jumping on the way back. Even though you really can't tell you were paddling upstream, the trip back to the launch was all downstream, with a breeze to our backs and what a nice ride that was!

Thanks a lot for a great trip. We really enjoyed. We definitely hope to have the chance to come over again.
I will also add that you and Kenny are a great company. You really did everything possible to make it a great experience.
