Kayaking near Leesburg, FL February 2, 2014

What started out to be a foggy morning turned out to be a beautiful day. Snowy Egrets, Pied-billed Grebes, Anhingas, Common Moorhens, Purple Gallinule, Red-shouldered Hawks, Great Blue Herons and a few Red- bellied Cooter Turtles were all out playing in the sun. We made it out to the marsh of Lake Griffin and in the side shoot there must have been 5000 Coots. It's a great resting place for the Wintering birds and they transform the marsh into a chattering pond. There were lots of Ospreys out fishing, carrying their catch around with them, face first of course ;-). It's an awesome sight to see, Haynes Creek is full of life.
