Springtime on the St Johns River Feb 6, 2015

It's the first week of February but it's Springtime on the St Johns. All the trees are greening up and some of the birds are sitting on their nests. Today we watched an Osprey perched in a tree eating his lunch while the Red-shouldered Hawks and Anhingas were out looking for mates. It was a little windy at the start but half way through the wind laid down making the water turn to glass. It was great for Manatee viewing and we all got a good look at them as they glided back and forth under our yaks. It's a beautiful time of year to be here... sure beats the heck out of shoveling snow!
