The animals are showing off today!

The Manatees were hot and heavy today on the St Johns River. Blue Springs is having a banner year with a record of 440 Manatees at last count. We had a few swim under out yaks today and many others seen from a distance. We also had an awesome day of birding. Limpkins, Purple Gallinules, American Bitterns, a Barred Owl, Glossy Ibis, Bald Eagles, Osprey and a Cormorant with a successful catch of the day. The place is loaded this time of year. We saw Anhingas with their breeding green eye, Great Egrets and Snowy Egrets showing their beautiful plumes. The trees are starting to pop with a little green and the Red Maple has bloomed donning its seeds all colored in red. February 15, 2016 was a memorable day on the river!
